SDNY COURTHOUSE,
May 5 – Samuel Saunders is on
trial for being a felon in
possession of ammunition, to
wit, 9 millimeter
Remington-Peters shell
casings.
On May 5, U.S.
District Court for the
Southern District of New York
Judge Lorna G. Schofield held
a final charging conference.
Inner City Press covered it.
The
Assistant US Attorney said
perhaps the verdict sheet
should only be signed by the
foreperson.
Judge
Schofield said she prefers all
jurors to sign. She asked how
long the AUSA wants for
closing arguments.
An hour and a
half was the answer, including
a 15 minute video.
Judge Schofield
said it would be important
that both sides could close on
the same day, Friday, May 7
and that she would not expect
the jury to reach a verdict
that day.
The case is US v.
Saunders, 19-cr-679
(Schofield)
