SDNY COURTHOUSE,
Dec 16 – Jose Alvarez
pleaded guilty to narcotics
conspiracy, after being caught
on wiretaps in connection with
bringing drugs to Washington
DC and elsewhere.
On December 16
U.S. District Court for the
Southern District of New York
Judge Denise L. Cote held his
sentencing. Inner City Press
covered it.
Judge Cote
offered condolence for the
death of a family member.
Alvarez spoke of his
difficulties imprisoned during
the pandemic, and asked for
leniency.
Judge Cote
sentenced him to 80 months,
below the stipulated
guidelines rang of 110 to 125
months, but above the 60 month
mandatory minimum that
Alvarez' lawyer was requested.
