SDNY COURTHOUSE,
June 11 – Rakim Brown is
detained awaiting trial on
drug and gun charges.
On
February 8, U.S. District

proceeding about Brown's
access to discovery. Inner
City Press covered it.
Now on
April 5, Judge Stein held
another proceeding. Brown's
defense attorney has left a
law firm to start her own.
There were multiple references
to bandwidth (with the
prosecutor citing the US v.
Calk case and the defense US
v. Donziger, both of which
Inner City press is covering).
The trial date here was moved
from July to August, on
consent.
Now on
June 11, this: "ORDER as to
Rakim Brown: IT IS HEREBY
ORDERED that: 1.The Court
shall hold a suppression
hearing on defendant's motions
to suppress evidence
pertaining to 1) the January
20, 2016 search of defendant's

2.The Court shall hold a

defendant's motion to suppress
evidence pertaining to the
August 5, 2016 search on
August 10, 2021, at 9:00 a.m.
in Courtroom 23A; 3.The final
pretrial conference will be
held in Courtroom 23A on
September 2, 2021, at 11:00
a.m.; and 4.The trial of this
matter is scheduled for
September 13, 2021, at 9:30
a.m. (Signed by Judge Sidney
H. Stein on 6/11/2021) (lnl)."
Inner City
Press will continue to report
on this case.
It is US v.
