SDNY COURTHOUSE,
April 14 –
Bruderman Asset Management
sued Real Time Consultants -
then Real Time tried to
publicly identify one of
Bruderman's
clients.
On April 14, U.S. District
Court for the Southern
District of New York
Magistrate Judge Stewart D.
Aaron held a proceeding. Inner
City Press covered it.
Bruderman had
complained that it had "asked
Joseph Goldberg to redact the
name of Bruderman's clients" -
but that he
refused. Judge
Netburn asked why the name was
relevant, and whether the move
to unseal it was nefarious.
The defense said
no, that the presumption is
that all court filing are
public. We agree.
The case is
Bruderman Asset Management,
LLC v. Real Time Consultants,
Inc., 20-cv-3164 (Broderick /
Netburn)
