SDNY COURTHOUSE,
July 7 – Enrico McDonald
pleaded guilty to being a
felon in possession of a
firearm, to wit, a black 9
millimeter Taurus
pistol.
On July 7,
U.S. District Court for the
Southern District of New York
Judge Analisa Torres held his
sentencing. Inner City Press
covered
it.
The US
Attorney's Office asked for
the guideline, 70 to 87
months. The defense asked for
24 months, citing McDonald's
long history of drinking beer
and hard liquor.
McDonald, in his
own letter, wrote that "I was
drinking many beers every day.
I knew this habit was
unhealthy, but couldn't really
stop."
He said
prison has forced him into
sobriety. Judge
Torres sentenced him to 24
months.
The case is USA
v. McDonald, 20-cr-620
(Torres)
