SDNY COURTHOUSE,
Oct 28 – Madhawa Kodithuwakku
was charged with asylum fraud:
cooking up stories of
persecution for submission to
the Department of Homeland
Security.
On October
28 U.S. District Court for the
Southern District of New York
Judge Ronnie Abrams held a
change of plea proceeding.
Inner City Press covered
it.
Of four
initial charges, the plea was
to only one.
Judge Abrams ran
through, even this late in the
case, the new script from the
Due Process Protections Act.
Sentencing was set for
February 12.
The case is US v.
Kodithuwakku, 19-cr-604
(Abrams)
