SDNY COURTHOUSE,
April 19 – A fire on
the terrace roof deck at the
51 Greene Street condominium
building on Manhattan's Soho
neighborhood has triggered a
lawsuit blaming the fire on
negligent
smoking.
On April 18, U.S. District
Court for the Southern
District of New York
Magistrate Judge Sarah L. Cave
held a proceeding. Inner City
Press covered it.
Sydney Hyman
accuses the defendants of
filing to extinguish the
item(s) they were smoking, and
damaging her businesses
ArtReinvented Studio and
TomorrowToday.
Judge Cave
set an in-person (and sealed)
settlement conference for May
31 at 2 pm, preceded by a May
11 proceeding before the
assigned District Judge,
Analisa Torres.
The case is Hyman
v. Fabbri et al., 19-cv-10506
