SDNY COURTHOUSE,
Oct 27 – Stalin Santana
Perdomo was deported from the
US to the Dominican Republic
in 2017, after a drug
conviction. Then he
returned.
On October 27
U.S. District Court for the
Southern District of New York
Judge Valerie E. Caproni held
his sentencing. Inner City
Press covered it.
Judge
Caproni said there would be
little general deterence to be
found here, and that the
motivation to return would
remain too.
The US Attorney's
Office had said it was
submitting a Judicial Removal
Order, and that Santana is
"participating in the
Government's 'Fast Track'
program for illegal reentry
offenses," under which it
agreed to a four-level
downward department under USSG
Section 5K3.1. Still they
asked for six months.
Judge
Caproni sentenced Santana to
time served and deportation.
The case is US v.
Santana-Perdomo, 20-cr-434
(Caproni)
