SDNY COURTHOUSE,
Jan 19 – Peter Zonis is an
artist who has sued Douglas
Elliman Realty, LLC, publicist
Lizzie Grubman and others for
stealing his artwork.
On January
19 U.S. District Court for the
Southern District of New York
Judge Jesse M. Furman held a
proceeding. Inner City Press
covered it.
The
question of service on Lizzie
Grubman came up. It had not
been accomplished.
Zonis asked if he
can move for default judgment.
Judge Furman said Zonis has
until March to show proof or
service, or an order to show
cause why Grubman should not
be dismissed from the
case.
On the
other hand, Judge Furman told
the other defendants that
Zonis' complaint -
handwritten, with press
clippings from 2008 and other
years - could make out a
copyright claim.
The case is Zonis
v. Grubman, et al., 20-cv-7181
(Furman)
