SDNY COURTHOUSE,
Sept 16 – Kenya Thomas sued
the City of New York for being
unlawfully detained for four
hours.
On October
26, 2021 U.S. District Court
for the Southern District of
New York Judge J. Paul Oetken
held a proceeding. Inner City
Press covered it.
The
complaint says an officer
conducted a "search including
touching between Thomas'
thighs." There is no
settlement.
Judge Oetken, who
just finished the Lev Parnas
trial, set a trial in this
case.
The trial took
place on September 7 and 8,
2022. Inner City Press went to
cover it. After the closings,
at 4:18 pm on September 8 the
jury returned a verdict for
the defendants, five "No's"
and the complaint was
dismissed.
The case was
Thomas et al v. City of New
York et al., 17-cv-8593
(Oetken)
