May 9 –
The Congregation Kneses Israel
of Sea Gate sued Philadelphia
Indemnity Insurance Company
for not paying out on an
insurance policy on 3801-11
Nautilus Avenue, Brooklyn, New
York.
On May 9, U.S. District Court
for the Southern District of
New York Magistrate Judge
Sarah L. Cave held a
proceeding. Inner City Press
called in to cover it.
The
parties began to discuss their
efforts to settle the case,
even dollar values. Judge Cave
advised them, There is a
member of the press on the
line. They spoke more
generally, then agreed to a
settlement conference on May
31 at 10 am, also virtually
(but closed).
There was talk if
that is not successful of
discussing how the Federal
case will proceed - which
should be public.
