SDNY COURTHOUSE,
April 25 – Luigi Abreu,
a self-described blind person,
has sued Dashing Diva
Franchise Corp. for having an
inaccessible website. Abreu
states he was seeking to buy
glaze, magic press and glue-on
nails.
On April 25, U.S. District
Court for the Southern
District of New York
Magistrate Judge Sarah Netburn
held a proceeding. Inner City
Press covered it.
Judge Netburn emphasized that
last minute requests for a
settlement conference will not
be able to be accommodated.
She said that
discovery should be concluded
by August 23, with any
pre-motion letter for a
summary judgment motion to be
filed by September 7 with the
assigned District Judge Andrew
L. Carter.
The case is Abreu
v. Dashing Diva Franchise
Corp., 22-cv-1100 (Carter /
Netburn)
