SDNY COURTHOUSE,
Oct 12 – Remi Laba has sued
the South African company JBO
Worldwide Supply Pty Ltd and
Orange Butterfly Licensing
(Mauritius) for reneging
paying a finder's
fee.
On
July 23, 2021 U.S. District
Court for the Southern
District of New York Judge
Alvin K. Hellerstein held a
proceeding. Inner City Press
covered it.
Judge
Hellerstein asked about the
third party complaints and
said they shouldn't be allowed
to clog up the underlying
case, which he valued at
$100,000. The plaintiff said
$100,000 to $160,000.
A parallel
lawsuit in South Africa was
mentioned.
Jump cut to
October 2022, when Judge
Hellerstein held a proceeding
which Inner City Press
covered, and subsequently
issued an order regulating
proceedings. He ruled that
"fourth party defendants shall
answer or otherwise move by
November 18, 2022." There is a
next status conference set for
January 6, 2023.
This case is Laba
v. JBO Worldwide Supply Pty
Ltd, 20-cv-3443 (Hellerstein)
