SDNY COURTHOUSE,
Oct 22 – Remi Laba has sued
the South African company JBO
Worldwide Supply Pty Ltd and
Orange Butterfly Licensing
(Mauritius) for reneging
paying a finder's
fee.
On
July 23, U.S. District Court
for the Southern District of
New York Judge Alvin K.
Hellerstein held a proceeding.
Inner City Press covered
it.
Judge
Hellerstein asked about the
third party complaints and
said they shouldn't be allowed
to clog up the underlying
case, which he valued at
$100,000. The plaintiff said
$100,000 to $160,000.
A parallel
lawsuit in South Africa was
mentioned.
Jump cut to
October 22, 2021 when Judge
Hellerstein held another
conference. He emphasized that
counsel should cite Federal
Rules of Civil Procedure when
they submit letters. He said
any motions pursuant to Rule
12 must be filed by November
5.
This case is Laba
v. JBO Worldwide Supply Pty
Ltd, 20-cv-3443 (Hellerstein)
