SDNY COURTHOUSE,
Oct 14 – Jose Perez was
scheduled to plead guilty last
week, after being charged with
child pornography, coersion or
inticement of a female and
attempted inducement of a
minor to engage in sexual
activity.
Now he has
left his wife Annette
Piri-Perez holding the bag,
having violated the terms of
his pre-trial release and
absconded, "headed west," Ms.
Piri-Perez said.
On
October 14 U.S. District Court
for the Southern District of
New York Judge Paul A.
Engelmayer held a forfeiture
of bond proceeding. Inner City
Press covered it.
Ms.
Piri-Perez was on the line,
and sought to speak. Judge
Engelmayer asked her
questions: when she last saw
her husband (last Wednesday)
and where she thought he was
(West).
Judge
Engelmayer told her she would
be forfeiting the $75,000
bond, that this was a
consequence of her decisions.
There is another suretor of
the bond for Perez' release
who has not yet been notified.
The case is US v.
Perez, 19-cr-297 (Engelmayer)
