SDNY COURTHOUSE,
Sept 17 – Joseph M. Gallo was
working as Security / SSO in
the Federal courthouse at 500
Pearl Street for Akal Security
back in 2009. In 2014 Inter /
Con took over the contract and
declined to pay for his
required special medical exam.
He sued. At least
twice.
On
September 17 U.S. District
Court for the Southern
District of New York Judge
Katherine Polk Failla held a
proceeding. Inner City Press
covered it.
Judge
Failla began by disclosing the
obvious, that she works in the
SDNY courthouse. Did either
party think that was a
conflict of interest? No.
Defense counsel said, perhaps
automatically, that they did
not at this time thought it
merited recusal.
Judge
Failla patiently inquired into
the specifics of Gallo's
claim, the falling through a
settlement, a drive to Albany.
These case is
Gallo v. Inter-Con Security,
20-cv-4879 (Failla)
