SDNY COURTHOUSE,
June 9 – Jane Rosen is a 71
year old special education
teacher who says she was used
by the Board of Education to
train others then ostracized,
harming her and her 20 year
old daughter. She put this in
a 200 paragraph complaint in
2018.
On June 9
U.S. District Court for the
Southern District of New York
Magistrate Judge Stewart D.
Aaron held a proceeding. Inner
City Press covered
it. Ms. Rosen is
still pro se, and much of the
discussion revolving around
how NYLAG, the New York Legal
Assistance Group, could keep
helping her. (Judge Aaron
reminded her that there is no
right to counsel in civil
cases).
Judge
Aaron said hopefully that the
SDNY Court will soon be in
"Phase One," with more staff
coming in, and that the public
will be admitted. He set the
next conference for July
24.
Ms. Rosen
said she would be consent to
confer with the defense and
have them send a letter in.
Judge Aaron said no, the case
was assigned to him, and he
calendars things.
The case is Rosen
v. N.Y.C. Department of
Education et al., 18-cv-6670
(Torres / Aaron).
