SDNY COURTHOUSE,
May 21 – Public interest
lawyers have sued the U.S.
Admistration's deadlines for
immigration filings, saying
they put them at risk.
On May 21,
U.S. District Court for the
Southern District of New York
Judge Naomi Rice Buchwald held
a hearing, and Inner City
Press covered it. ]]
Judge Buchwalk told the
plaintiffs' counsel that she
and her law clerks has spent
hours tracking down the
applicable law. But, she
added, it is lawyers' duty to
advance the interests of their
clients.
They should do that work, she
said, adding she is unlikely
to grant the requested
preliminary injunction. The
case is Ali et al v. Barr et
al., 20-cv-3337 (Buchwald).
