SDNY COURTHOUSE,
May 28 –
The
routinization of Fair Labor
Standards Act litigation was
on display on May 28 before
Magistrate Judge Robert W.
Lehrburger of the U.S.
District Court for the
Southern District of New York.
Neftali Torres of Blauvelt NY
had sued Sparkill Restaurant
and its owner B. Cungu. Inner
City Press covered it.
The two sides'
lawyers said they knew each
other, even joked about what
they call each other behind
their backs. Judge Lehrburger
remarked that such a
relationship might lead to a
settlement.
But what about
the parties?
The case is
Torres v. Sparkill Restaurant
Corp. et al., 19-cv-231
(Gardephe / Lehrburger).
