COURTHOUSE, June 12 – In
2018 Morgan Art Foundation
sued and said that Robert
Indiana, the creator of the
"iconic LOVE image," is
"bedridden and infirm" and
being exploited.
On June 12 U.S.
District Court for the
Southern District of New York
Magistrate Judge Barbra Moses
held a proceeding. Inner City
Press covered it.
According to the Morgan Art
Foundation, they rescued
Indiana from being a one-trick
pony, in retreat in
Vinalhaven, Maine. Simon
Salama-Caro signed a contract
with Indiana to "produce and
fabricate" LOVE statues.
Then, they say, "an art
publisher named American Image
Art and its founder Michael
McKenzie [tried] to exploit
Indiana for
profit.
Massive
discovery battles have ensued,
taking up more than three
hours on June 12. Inner City
Press will continue to cover
the case.
It is Morgan Art
Foundation Limited v. McKenzie
et al., 18-cv-4438 (Torres /
Moses).
