SDNY COURTHOUSE,
May 10 – Marjorie Phillips
sued The Fashion Institute of
Technology for racial
discrimination.
On
May 10, U.S. District Court
for the Southern District of
New York Magistrate Judge
Sarah Netburn held a discovery
conference. Inner City Press
covered it.
The plaintiff
quotes a FIT official telling
her, You look like you are
going to the hood. She was
then threatened with death,
she says. Much of the
complaint concerns her
supervisor Mary David, a white
woman.
Judge Netburn on May 10 denied
the plaintiff's motion to
compel but ordered FIT to
produce Mary Davis'
termination later by the end
of the week.
The case is
Phillips v. Fashion Institute
of Technology, et al.,
20-cv-221 (Daniels /
Netburn)
