SDNY COURTHOUSE,
March 22 – Quiras
Santiago-Santiago is charged
with illegal re-entry of the
United
States.
On March 22, U.S. District
Court for the Southern
District of New York Judge
Edgardo Ramos held a change of
plea proceeding. Inner City
Press covered it.
Back on
January 13 the Federal
Defender told Judge Ramos that
she expected that "we will
reach a disposition on this
matter.. within 30
days."
On March 22,
Judge Ramos asked the
defendant how much education
he had.
The response was,
only to the second grade.
