SDNY COURTHOUSE,
August 31 – Luis Octavio
Medrano is charged with a
violation of supervised
release back in
2012.
On July 22, U.S. District
Court for the Southern
District of New York Judge
Richard M. Berman held a
proceeding. Inner City Press
covered
it.
Judge Berman called it an old
case.
While Medrano
went at one point to the
Dominican Republic, it was
unclear if he was subsequently
arrested there or in Puerto
Rico.
In any
event, he pleaded not guilty.
That was then. On
August 28, Medrano appeared
again before Judge Berman, and
Inner City Press again covered
it. Now he pled guilty to a
single violation, having
slightly more than 100 pills
on 148th Street and Broadway
ten years ago.
Judge
Berman called it not the most
serious violation and
sentenced Medrano to time
served and no more supervised
release.
The case is US v.
Medrano, 08-cr-60 (Berman)
