SDNY COURTHOUSE,
Jan 24 – Banco Santander
(Brasil) has asked U.S.
District Court for the
Southern District of New York
Judge Andrew L. Carter for an
order empowering it to conduct
discovery for a case in
Brazil.
There in
the 2nd Civil Court of Sao
Paolo, Banco Santander has
sued Ducoco Produtos
Alimenticios S/A, Nelson
Nogueira Pinhiero and
others.
Now, in a
filing uncovered in the SDNY
dockets on January 24 by Inner
City Press, Banco Santander
wants discovery against
Citibank, BONY Melon, SocGen,
HSBC, BNP Paribas, JPMorgan
Chase, Barclays, Bank of
America, Wells Fargo and The
Clearing House Payments
Company.
The
proposed order was approved as
to form.
The case is In re
Application of Banco Santander
(Brasil) S.A., for an Order
Pursuant to 28 U.S.C. 1782 to
Conduct Discovery for Use in
Foreign Proceedings, 22-mc-22
