SDNY COURTHOUSE,
March 5 – Abelardo Montero is
charged with illegal re-entry
of the United
States.
On March 8, U.S.
District Court for the
Southern District of New York
Judge Alison J. Nathan held a
proceeding. Inner City Press
covered it.
Montero was
convicted of narcotics in
Brooklyn in 1991.
He has an
alias, Eliowascar Herrera
Bacilio, and it was under that
name that he was apprehended
in The Bronx in 2020.
Judge Nathan
asked Montero, for the record,
if he is a citizen of the
United States.
He replied that
he is a citizen of the
Dominican Republic. The case
will reconvene.
The case is US v.
