SDNY COURTHOUSE,
Nov 17 –
Betty
Gell sued NYPD
and officers,
saying they
had arrested
and abused her
in her
apartment on
February 6,
2020, claiming
she had drugs
that she did
not.
On
November 14,
2022, U.S.
District Court
for the
Southern
District of
New York
Magistrate
Judge Stuart
D. Aaron held
a proceeding.
Inner City
Press covered
it.
Gell's
complaint says
she was in the
hospital when
an officer
told her she
was "lucky
because the
judge
dismissed her
case for lack
of evidence."
Then
she was left
to get home
without any
money, phone
or
Metrocard.
On
November 14,
Judge Aaron
ordered that
by November 28
Plaintiff
should move
for a
Certificate of
Default with
respect to
Detective Jose
Salcedo, PO
Michael
Dappolonia and
Sergeant Amis
Niocevic.
The
case is Gell
et al v.
Conejo,
21-cv-10225
(Cronan /
Aaron)
