SDNY COURTHOUSE,
August 13 – On August 13 the
US Securities and Exchange
Commission made an emergency
filing against GPL Venturs
LLC, HempAmericana and
individuals defendants -
but there was a problem with
their emails.
The case
was assigned in the U.S.
District Court for the
Southern District of New York
to Judge Alvin K. Hellerstein.
But it being August, it was
the Part I Judge, Valerie E.
Caproni, who reviewed it. She
convened a telephone
conference at 1 pm. Inner City
Press called in and identified
itself when asked.
The SEC is
seeking among other things
repatriation of funds, and
bans on Salvador E. Rosillo
and Lawrence B. Adams.
Judge Caproni
said she is inclined to sign
the papers, but needed the
requisite factual basis, for
example a declaration from one
of the SEC's lawyers. So that
is to be submitted.
The case is
Securities and Exchange
Commission v. GPL Ventures LLC
et al., 21-cv-6814
