SDNY COURTHOUSE,
June 13 – Thomas E. Smith sued
NYPD after being accused of
shoplifting while reading a
newspaper in a Rite Aid.
On June 10, 2022
U.S. District Court for the
Southern District of New York
Magistrate Judge Stewart D.
Aaron. held a proceeding.
Inner City Press covered it.
The
incident took place inside a
Rite Aid pharmacy at 2170
Eighth Avenue in Manhattan.
Now Smith wants to know the
identity of the security
guards - long gone from Rite
Aid - and a retired police
officer.
Judge Aaron
ordered the City to file a
service address for retired
NYPD Sergeant Robert Coppala.
Smith's amended complaint is
due by August 10 .
