SDNY COURTHOUSE,
Nov 10 – Francisco Jose Maria
was charged with being part of
a conspiracy to steal and cash
U.S. Treasury checks.
On June 14, 2021 U.S. District
Court for the Southern
District of New York Judge
Paul G. Gardephe held a change
of plea proceeding. Inner City
Press covered it.
The
defendant when the time came
described getting checks he
knew where stolen, and passing
them on to another, who in
term passed them on until they
were cashed.
Judge Gardephe
accepted the plea.
On November 10
co-defendant Loren Rubio was
up for sentencing. Her lawyer
described a series of abuses
and urged a time served
sentence. The AUSA still
wanted a year jail time. A
request was made to seal the
entire transcript. So what can
be reported? A full 24 hours
later it read, "See Judgment
for terms of sentence." But
the judgment was not in the
docket. Watch this site.
The case is
overall US v. Maria et al.,
19-cr-868 (Gardephe)
