SDNY COURTHOUSE,
June 14 – Francisco Jose Maria
was charged with being part of
a conspiracy to steal and cash
U.S. Treasury checks.
On June 14, U.S. District
Court for the Southern
District of New York Judge
Paul G. Gardephe held a change
of plea proceeding. Inner City
Press covered it.
The
defendant when the time came
described getting checks he
knew where stolen, and passing
them on to another, who in
term passed them on until they
were cashed.
Judge Gardephe
accepted the plea and set
sentencing for October 18 at 2
pm.
The case is US v.
Maria et al., 19-cr-868
