March 18 – The Republic
of Turkey sued Christie's Inc.
to recover an ancient marble
statue, the "Anatolian Marble
Female Idol of Kiliya Type,"
a/k/a "The Guennol Stargazer,"
from 3000 to 2200
B.C.E.
On March 18, U.S.
District Court for the
Southern District of New York
Judge Alison J. Nathan held a
final pre-trial conference.

for Turkey mentioned the time
difference, and asked if
things might be delayed be
interpretation. The (bench)
trial is set for April 5.
