SDNY COURTHOUSE,
August 15 – Rigoberto Arriolla
sued Numero 28 Pizzeria at 658
Amsterdam Avenue for not
paying overtime. The defendant
was supposed to engage in
mediation but canceled, again
and
again.
On
August 13, U.S. District Court
for the Southern District of
New York Judge Vernon S.
Broderick held a proceeding.
Inner City Press covered
it.
Judge Broderick
had asked why sanctions should
be imposed.
The defense
lawyer blamed himself for at
least one of the cancelations,
and committed to telling his
client(s) about Judge
Broderick's
dissatisfaction.
Discovery is
re-opened and the case
proceeds.
It is Arriola et
al v. 658-660 Amsterdam Corp.
et al., 20-cv-1962 (Broderick)
