SDNY COURTHOUSE,
August 17 – Amaury Urena sued
the City of New York and
Corrections Officers for,
among other things, handcuffs
too tight in Riker's Island
jail.
On August 15,
2022 U.S. District Court for
the Southern District of New
York Magistrate Judge
Katharine H. Parker held a
proceeding. Inner City Press
covered it.
Urena
narrated how, the cuffs on too
tight, attempts to get
attention to it escalated from
flood the cell to lighting a
fire.
Judge
Parker said the City's answer
is due November 14, as is that
of "D.W. Jane Doe."
The case is Urena
v. City of New York et al.,
22-cv-1189 (Caproni /
Parker)
