SDNY COURTHOUSE,
Feb 1 – Jason Tavarez is
charged in a drug case. He
wanted to hire his own
lawyer.
On February 1,
U.S. District Court for the
Southern District of New York
Judge P. Kevin Castel held a
Curcio hearing. Inner City
Press covered it.
The
selected attorney Anthony
Strazza was said to have a
conflict. But Taveras said he
would waive it, that he wanted
Strazza.
CJA lawyer John
Busa was allowed to withdraw.
A bail hearing has been set
for February 12.
The case is US v.
Tavares, 20-cr-301
(Castel)
