SDNY COURTHOUSE,
May 11 – Amable Aristy was
arrested in Massachusetts on
October 7, 2020, for
participating in a drug sale
and carrying a
firearm.
On May 11, U.S. District Court
for the Southern District of
New York Judge Edgardo Ramos
held a proceeding. Inner City
Press covered it.
Aristy
pleaded guilty to two
Violations of Supervised
Release: going to
Massachusetts without consent,
and having 900 grams of
marijuana in his apartment,
albeit of low potency.
While being
transferred or "shuttlecocked"
as his lawyer put it from
Massachusetts back to the
SDNY, Aristy contracted
COVID.
Judge Ramos,
speaking sympathetically but
calling Aristy one of a "small
pantheon" of people he sees
too frequently in this
context, sentenced Aristy to
12 months in prison.
The case is US v.
Aristy, 15-cr-505 (Ramos)
