SDNY COURTHOUSE,
Jan 19 – Sira Abassi pled
guilty to conspiracy to commit
Hobbs Act armed robbery. Now
she is on supervised
release.
On
December 2, U.S. District
Court for the Southern
District of New York Judge
Paul A. Engelmayer held a
violation of supervised
release proceeding. Inner City
Press covered it.
Judge
Engelmayer admonished Abassi
to strictly comply with home
detention, now at a new
address in Queens.
It was called an
interim hearing, with another
to follow.
And, on January
19, there was another
proceeding, and Inner City
Press again covered it. But it
did not last long. One of the
required forms had not been
reviewed and signed. Judge
Engelmayer said he understand
such things during the
pandemic, and set the next
date.
The case is US v.
Abassi, 17-cr-662 (Engelmayer)
