SDNY COURTHOUSE,
March 1 – Johnny Veale was
sentenced in 2018 to 21 months
in prison as a felon in
possession of a firearm.
Then while
out on supervised release, he
fell off the wagon and started
taking drugs. He was arrested
and detained on February
10.
On
March 1, U.S. District Court
for the Southern District of
New York Judge P. Kevin Castel
held a sentencing. Inner City
Press covered it.
Veale said that
during the COVID-19 lockdowns,
when he was told he didn't
have to or couldn't come in
person, he started getting
high again. He said it was
entirely his fault.
Judge
Castel thanked him for his
candor.
He
sentenced him to 58 days, that
is, until April 9, so he will
also pass through quarantine.
The case is US v.
Veale, 18-cr-134
(Castel)
