SDNY COURTHOUSE,
August 18 – Devendra Raj
Asharya sued 7-Eleven for
failure to pay overtime.
Franchisee Jimmy K. Solanki,
named as co-defendant, has not
known up.
On August 18, U.S. District
Court for the Southern
District of New York Judge
Mary K. Vyskocil held a
proceeding. Inner City Press
covered it.
Judge
Vyskocil found liability on
the labor law issues and
referred it to Magistrate
James Cott for an inquest into
damages.
But she declined
to make a similar finding on
retaliation, based on the
defendant's threat to do to
the District Attorney.
The case is
Acharya v. 7-Eleven, Inc. et
al., 18-cv-8010 (Vyskocil)
