SDNY COURTHOUSE,
Sept 23 – Paula Lisboa in 2014
sued the beauty parlor she
worked in, J Sisters 57, Inc.,
for failure to pay overtime
and minimum
wage.
On September 23 U.S. District
Court for the Southern
District of New York Judge
Vernon S. Broderick held a
proceeding. Inner City Press
covered it.
Judge
Broderick apologized to the
parties that the case wasn't
chosen for a trial spot in
2021 and asked them to suggest
days in 2022.
This is the
COVID backlog - an FLSA case,
seven years old, with no trial
in sight.
The case is
Lisboa v. J Sisters 57, Inc.,
14-cv-8115 (Broderick)
