SDNY COURTHOUSE,
Nov 5 – Roy Taylor filed a
hybrid lawsuit, about both
false arrest and mistreatment
by the police. With a criminal
case pending, both of his
civil cases got
stayed.
On November
5 U.S. District Court for the
Southern District of New York
Judge Gregory H. Woods held a
proceeding Inner City Press
covered it.
NYC Corporation
Counsel argued for a continued
stay of both sides of the
case. Taylor argued that
things should proceed.
Judge Woods ruled
that the police misconduct
part can proceed to discovery,
and inquired into the
incarcerated plaintiff's
ability and right to use the
law library.
The case is
Taylor v. Trigeno et al.,
16-cv-1143 (Woods)
