SDNY COURTHOUSE,
June 26 – The NFL has been
sued for its teams only
selling and licensing their
merchandise through National
Football League Properties,
Inc. thereby cutting out other
competitors like Fanatics,
Inc.
On June
23, 2022 U.S. District Court
for the Southern District of
New York Judge Andrew L.
Carter held a proceeding.
Inner City Press covered
it.
The NFL, as in
the Brian Flores case, wants
to compel arbitration. Judge
Carter ordered (and where
applicable the parties
stipulated) that the NFL will
be July 20 produce any
responsive, non-objectionable,
arbitration-related discovery
- subject to the entry of a
confidentiality order.
Significantly,
briefing on the motion to
dismiss is stayed pending
resolution of the motion to
compel arbitration.
The case is
Maldonado et al v. National
Football League, Inc. et al.,
22-cv-2289 (Carter)
