SDNY COURTHOUSE,
June 9 – Franklin Tomala, also
with three other names, is
charged with false statements
in application for passport
and aggravated identity
theft.
On June 9, U.S. District Court
for the Southern District of
New York Judge Alison J.
Nathan held an in-person
proceeding. Inner City Press
went to 40 Foley Square and
covered it.
Judge
Nathan said she was relieved
to be back in the courtroom.
There was no one
else in the gallery. Tomala's
Federal Defender said she is
requesting the grand jury
information, and may file a
motion about its racial
make-up.
Judge Nathan
asked, Because it was in White
Plains? (As in the US v. Balde
case before Judge Failla, and
the US v. Schulte case before
Judge Crotty, among
others).
No, the Federal
Defender said - not White
Plains, but still disparate.
The case is US v.
Tomala, 21-cr-367
(Nathan)
