SDNY COURTHOUSE,
Oct 27 – Francis Guzman
Sanchez was charged in a
narcotics
conspiracy.
On October
27 U.S. District Court for the
Southern District of New York
Judge Sidney H. Stein
scheduled a change of plea
proceeding. Inner City Press
covered it.
When it came time
to allocute, the defendant
said what he had done wrong
was to allow the conspiracy to
put a company in his
name.
Judge Stein
asked where it had all
happened, for purposes of
venue. Manhattan?
No, the defendant said.
The
Assistant US Attorney said he
had driven a truck through the
Bronx.
Again, the
defendant said No. Judge Stein
indicated he would not be
accepting the plea.
But a breakout
meeting was held, and the line
went dead.
Now the
plea has been accepted, with
sentencing scheduled for March
18, 2022.
The case is
US v. Sanchez et al.,
20-cr-326 (Stein)
