SDNY COURTHOUSE,
April 29 – Petro
Grytsyk sold his art on the
sidewalk in front of 701
Seventh Avenue. Until he
didn't.
On April
29, U.S. District Court for
the Southern District of New
York Judge Jesse M. Furman
held a proceeding. Inner City
Press covered it.
Grytsyk complains
he started getting summones -
and then got arrested. He
missed eight days of work. He
says he was not required to
obtain a general vending
license, under the First
Amendment.
Judge
Furman said fact discovery is
due by October 22, with a
pre-trial conference scheduled
for October 28. A trial would
take seven days.
The case is
Grytsyk v. Morales et al.,
19-cv-3470 (Furman)
