SDNY COURTHOUSE,
May 23 – Ian Schrager started
using the mark PUBLIC on
hotels and entertainment and
bar services, including in New
York. Now the New York
Shakespeare Festival has sued
for trademark
infringement.
On May 21, U.S. District Court
for the Southern District of
New York Judge Edgardo Ramos
held a proceeding. Inner City
Press covered it.
In the complaint is a poster
for "Public Arts' Public Reads
including I Gained Five Pounds
by Chiara Atik," at 25
Chrystie Street. Also, Joe's
Pub.
Judge Ramos ruled
that all discovery should be
completed by December 1, with
a case management conference
on December 3.
The case is New
York Shakespeare Festival v.
IS Company LLC et al,
19-cv-1632 (Ramos)
