SDNY COURTHOUSE,
Feb 2 – Anton King, on
Supervised Release after a
narcotics conviction, was to
appear by phone in court on
February 2.
But he
called in from the train, and
was told to call again another
day and take it more
seriously.
U.S. District
Court for the Southern
District of New York Judge
Richard M. Berman held the
proceeding. Inner City Press
covered it.
Judge
Berman gently admonished King,
whose CJA lawyer said he would
go further. Then King, whose
lawyer said he was still on
the call, could not unmute.
Judge
Berman hopefully called it a
learning experience.
The case is
US v. King, 11-cr-182
(Berman)
