SDNY COURTHOUSE,
Jan 10 – Arte Cafe, also known
as Westside Tomato of 106 East
73rd Street in Manhattan, has
been sued for
discrimination.
Ruth Sarit, a
naturalized citizen of
Dominican Republic heritage,
says she was disparaged due to
her national origin. She and
her fiance were
terminated.
On
January 8, U.S. District Court
for the Southern District of
New York Judge Ronnie Abrams
held a proceeding. Inner City
Press covered it.
Judge Abrams
denied Westside Tomato's
motion to dismiss and allowed
an amendment of the complaint.
The case is Sarit
v. Westside Tomato, Inc. et
al., 18-cv-11524 (Abrams)
