SDNY COURTHOUSE,
June 6 –
A female inmate sued the NYC
Department of Corrections for
the theft of her property and
her commissary account on
Rikers Island.
On June 4,
U.S. District Court for the
Southern District of New York
Judge Edgardo Ramos held a
proceeding. Inner City Press
covered it.
Judge Ramos
had come close to dismissing
the case for failure to
prosecute. But now the
plaintiff is back.
The missing
commissary includes six noodle
soups and a box of Wylers.
There is a separate case about
overly hot water in the
shower.
The case is
Paloma v. NYC Department of
Corrections et al., 20-cv-638
(Ramos)
