SDNY COURTHOUSE,
Jan 25 – A man who told NYPD,
on video, that he "slapped
her, but she's not going to
press charges" was up for
sentencing on January 25.
U.S.
District Court for the
Southern District of New York
Judge Ronnie Abrams held the
proceeding; Inner City Press
covered it.
The US
Attorney's office said it had
requested that NYPD "provide
access to defense counsel and
the Court to view the whole
recording." This, needless to
say, was not public.
Judge
Abrams called the conduct
serious, and sentenced the
defendant to seven months.
The case is US v.
Martinez, 15-cr-580 (Abrams)
