SDNY COURTHOUSE,
March 16 – A man came up
for sentencing facing thirty
years in
jail.
On March 16, U.S. District
Court for the Southern
District of New York Judge
Valerie E. Caproni held the
proceeding. Inner City Press
covered it.
The defense
lawyer recounted growing up in
Brownsville, Brooklyn, how
hard it is to make it out. The
defendant spoke and said he
had no choice.
Judge
Caproni disagreed, noting that
the lawyer had raised himself
out. She imposed a sentence of
twenty years.
The
defendant let it be known he
had turned out an offer of
COVID vaccination.
Judge Caproni
advised him to take the shots.
He said, Let me
go back to my cell. How could
I appeal, if I have to be
quarantined two weeks? Good
question.
